I have had rls for as long as I can remember, it got so bad about ten years ago I just wanted to chop them off , I went my doctor not realising it was an actual condition, he put me on pramipexole and I’ve never looked back , had to up my dosage a few years ago but as long as I take them before I start feeling tired usually around 4-5 on I hav no symptoms, if I’m traveling I always take one before I set off , my dad and sister had also suffered with this for many years , they both went to there doctors and told him what I had been prescribed, they both have been taking the same drug as myself for several years , it really is a miracle drug ,

Yep couldn't agree more. I've had rls his childhood and I'm now 64. Sifrol (that's what pramipexole is marketed as down under). I too did not know it was a disease until I was diagnosed at 48. I honestly believed that I was the only person in the whole world that had this horrible affliction. It is indeed a miracle drug but just watch out for the side effects as they are hideous. I can control the side effects but I am useless when it comes to controlling the symptoms of RLS. I definitely could not and would not live without it.

That's great that it's working so well for you.

Just be aware that after time you may feel that it is not working as well and that the restlessness comes earlier and over more of the body.

This is known as augmentation and may not occur in your case- but it's as well to be prepared for that eventuality.

Research the condition and do NOT up the dose you are on.

All the very best.

I am so glad it works for you and your sister and Dad. Just be careful on upping the dose. Too high of a dose can do the exact opposite of what we want. But glad you are getting so much relief! :) RLS is a genetic thing for about 70% of us.

I was on a similar drug- Ropinirole and like you, thought it was a miracle. Then after about 9/10 years I started to suffer Augmentation.

Anyway, do not increase the dose and watch out for signs of Augmentation.

Really pleased it’s working for you.

Not what you're looking for?
