AMERICA’S MOST DANGEROUS PILL - KLONOPIN.

OMFG .... I just Googled 'Is Kratom the same kind of drug as Clonazepam'? And to my extreme astonishment ....... the answer came back as yes. My reason for doing this is that I have come across the name of this drug many many times on this site, (and being totally oblivious of the characteristics and usage of this med and the purpose for it's use), I was rather somewhat curious. Can you possibly understand how I felt, when the first heading that came up under Google was .....

AMERICA’S MOST DANGEROUS PILL -KLONOPIN.

Can you imagine the shock and total horror that I felt when reading that. I actually think I turned a tad numb with understandable fear. And as I am currently taking Clonazepam, I am now somewhat at a loss of what to do.

Can I please receive some advice from my fellow posters as I am now extremely scared shitless of what to expect in my coming future.

And can someone please explain to me why it has this frightening title?

I have no idea what you are googling, but that is not a true or fair statement on Klonopin/Clonazepam. Kratom is a leaf from a tree that grows in Thailand. It is a naturally occurring thing. Klonopin is man made and is NOT the most dangerous drug in the world. YOU have to be very careful when reading things that you are not falling for "click bait", for one thing. Different drugs work differently for many people, so you and/or the google result, I am guessing it is not from a fact filled web site, to put it kindly. We do not like to scare people here, and the title of your post says you have clearly fallen for false information. Clonazpam is anti anxiety. Kratom works more like cocaine and is a stimulant, not like a benzodizapine, which Clonazepam is. Kratom is illegal in the UK, and in many states in the US, soon to be ALL states.

Before I had even heard of Clonazepam, I saw an interview given by Stevie Nicks on her many drug addictions she had suffered thru in her past. And the worst by far, (even worse than cocaine and heroin), in her own personal experience, was by far Clonazepam. She stated that it took 7 years of her life where she was nothing short of being a zombie. And she said if she ever saw the psychiatrist who prescribed it for her in the first instance, that she would have no hesitation at all in killing him. And now I am taking it as well.

I tend to agree with Nightdancer. 20 years for me. Haven't changed dose and never felt like a Zombie. Took a long weekend away and forgot to take it with. Didn't notice any type of withdrawal. My doctor told me that the amount I take is equivalent to a few ounces of vodka. Maybe it's just me, but as science finds out more and more about the benefits of a small amount of nightly alcohol, in terms of lowering blood pressure, pulse etc, I tend to think the benefits of Clonazepam, for me, outweigh the downside. There's people who abuse alcohol (and prescription drugs) and do indeed lose years of their lives but there are others who drink every day (or take Clonazepam) and live long happy lives.

Nightdancer, I certainly hope you are wrong about Kraton becoming illegal in all states. I have noticed that the CBD stores here in the valley are starting to stock a fairly large variety of Kratom. So something is happening. We also have recreational weed here and I think Kratom is safer. Just looking for some other opinions or experiences because I have the same positive effect on clonazepam as Kratom.

As I explained to you, many sites have "click bait" headlines to make you click on it. And, it works! :) Please do not read that stuff and I bet that web site, whatever it was, has an agenda, as being anti med? I have seen it a million times. And with your bipolar diagnosis. stay on your Clonazepam by all means, and talk to your doctor. NEVER start or stop meds when bipolar, it is a slippery slope. Good luck, but talk to your doc and stay away from those web sites.

I've been on Clonazepam since I was 17 years old. Im now 44. I don't take it as an anti-psychotic drug. It's used to control my Tourette's Syndrome Tics. There's side effects with every drug. But I'm here to tell you to please be careful in posting information that isn't exactly credible.

I take Clonazepam, and have for the last 35 years, same dose, never get a "high". I do not take them for anxiety either, they are a good muscle relaxant and my doctors like to use it as an add on to opiates, to keep the opiate dose lower, and it actually helps them work better for pain and for RLS. So Clonazepam is a '2 birds with one stone" kind of thing for me, ALB1Amy. :) I know lots of people with Tourette's who use Clonazepam. Each med can have a different use for different people, so we all have to do our own journey.

I have trouble believing that claim, my friend. If you ask me, statins are way more dangerous. That's what is getting pushed on me right now. Anyway, try not to let that article freak you out.

I have been taking Clonazepam for at least 10 years for my restless legs and I have no ill effects at all with these tablets. They help you sleep and stop your legs from going crazy and it’s not addictive I am on the same dose 0.5mg and have never had to increase this dosage. I also do not have any drowsy affect in the morning. I wouldn’t be without these tablets ever. Hope this is reassuring to everyone out there.

Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine. It is in the same class of medications as Valium, Xanax, etc. It is a sedative or anti-anxiety medication that acts as a central nervous system depressant. In the US, it is a "schedule" drug or controlled substance. Kratom acts as a stimulant in small amounts but as an opiate in higher amounts. It affects the same brain receptors as morphine. Both clonazepam (klonopin) and kratom can be physically and psychologically addictive. That said, there are many who say they benefit from Kratom.

I am one that gets physical and phycological relief from about 2 oz of Kraton, which is pretty low as compared to other users. We also now have a walk-in bar where you can sit a have a Kratom drink or a Kava drink.
