In a 69, soon to be 70. I've had 4 heart attacks and 3 strokes, but still enjoying life. I get a lot of pain from Arthritis in my spine and knees, but every morning I wake up, it's a good day. Sorted the heart attack worries, the first one frightens you, the last one kills you. But the ones in between are just aggravation. Had Restless Legs Syndrome for years, but sorted now, thank heavens, see earlier post.

Your great attitude will serve you well. As you say, every day is a good day whatever life throws at you. Someone told me once "You know, the first day of a person's life can be very dangerous" I thought "Yes and the last day can be tricky too". Hope I made you laugh.

Yes, the trick is to enjoy the bit in between. If you're not doing that, figure out why. The end is inevitable so why bother about it. Dennis

Thanks, it would be easy to curl up in a chair, weeping and wailing, saying I'm dying. But sod it, I've got a friend who says he couldn't stand knowing that he had only 18 months. I told him, they say I've got between 18 months and 2 1/2 years. He could drop dead tomorrow, I'm safe, I've got at least 18 months. D

I hear a lot about Tramadol, I've been taking 2x50mg 4 times a day for 6 years. I still get a lot of pain so wondered about changing to Morphine patches. I've got a review coming up, has anyone had any experience with the patches? If I switch to them, will I get withdrawal from quitting the Tramadol?
