I have been using the patch for a couple of years and it worked very well at first. Since then I have had to increase to 2mg but now I'm suffering augmentation again and am worried about what to do as before starting the Neupro the doctor tried me on several tablets (can't remember which they were but think one of them was Ropinerol) and these gave me severe soreness in my digestive tract. My Doc knows next to nothing about RLS but is willing to go along with any suggestions I might have. At the moment I am just managing but sometimes the RLS is horrible leaving me without sleep. Don't know whether to risk going up to 3mg or try another drug but, if I do, which one? And how do I reduce the Neupro? Can anyone help?

Neupro Patch
Do NOT increase your dose - whatever you do.
You could try Gabapentin along with the patch- start with 300 in the evening and increase slowly. Your Dr will advise.
Don't go more than 900.
Otherwise you'll have to get off Neupro altogether and try a list of other drugs.

Good luck.
Agree with madlegs- do NOT increase the dose. Reduce down to 1mg and if you experience the worsening of RLS ask your doctor for an opioid like tramadol ( 50 mg at night at 9pm and 50mg just before bed) until the RLS settles. If it doesn't settle at 1mg, you'll have to come off it completely and, as Madlegs suggests, try another med like gabapentin or pregabalin. As you were on ropinirole before ( another dopamine agonist), you are more likely to experience augmentation on the neupro patch.
Best of luck and stay on here to get help during the withdrawal from the patch.
Take care

Thank you Jools. I am thoroughly convinced now that increasing to 3mg would only cause more damage. I think I will ask the doc to give me gaberpentin and begin with 300 as Madlegs advised but I'm going to continue with the 2mg patch for as long as possible and keep the Gaberpentin in the stock for as long as I can.
