You be very careful , don't go up to high ,they only last so long ,then your body gets used to them ,it's called augmention if you have a look at some of the older posts you will find quite a lot of information ,it seems most of us can only stay on certain meds for so long then we have to start all over again

I GET IT IN THE LEGS AND ARMS I.E. RESTLESS LIMB SYNDROME!

I ALSO TAKE TRAMADOL FOR BAD BACK PAIN! TRAMADOL IS USELESS FOR RLS AND GABABPENTIN IS USELESS FOR SEVERE BACK PAIN. GABAPENTIN SWITCHES OFF THE RLS WITHIN THE HOUR BUT THE SIDE EFFECTS OF GABA ARE HORRENDOUS!!!!

TRY TAKING 3 X 200mg + OF FEROUS SULPHATE DAY. IT WILL NOT WORK STRAIGHT AWAY BUT KEEP TAKING IT AND LET ME KNOW. JUST KEEP TAKING THE FERROUS SULPHATE, IRON TABLETS BASICALLY.

Thankyou for passing this on.

I have wondered for a while if gabapentin tends generally to be prescribed at too low a dose - I notice that in the Clinical Management of Restless Legs Syndrome (Lee, Buchfuhrer, Allen, Hening) it is recommended at 100 - 900 mg up to 3xtimes per day. I have rarely encountered anyone taking more than about 1000mg in total per day and often it is prescribed at a MUCH lower dose than that. Maybe it needs to be taken more at the level you are taking it for it to be effective against the urge-to-move.

I found the side effects awful however and use kratom instead.

Hi, it least 1000mg. thing is you will get use to that after a while maybe and you will take more. i took 1500mg in one go last night. take them all at night not spead through the day, remember gabapentins half life of 8 hrs. if like me take 1000-1500mg as soon as it comes on when you go to bed.

Watching that program last night on C5 i am like that old fella! agony!!!! mostly at night but sometimes in the day. I sort it out with GABAPENTIN!! within an hour it is like a switch and OFF the Restless Limb Syndrome.....Yes! I get it in the arms too!

3400mg i have been on b4 now but i was a vegetable. Gabapentin really really affects my near memory, but i can remember things from years ago very clearly. take 700mg of ferrous sulphate too but keep taking it as for it to get in your brain. I only get sporadic attacks now since doing 800+mg of Iron tablets,

If you get it as bad as I you will try what I said!

wow! strange. Have you tried the ferrous sulphate? Are you getting it bad? But saying about the gaba i take between 200mg and 400mg of tramadol a day aswell. I have been taking the tramadol for a lot longer by itself for back pain (ruptured intervertabral discs and arthritis on old crush fractures. try the iron tablets then. take 4 x 210mg a day.

I'm not sure that augmentation has been linked to gabapentin. As I understand it, it more usually it occurs with dopamine agonists like ropinerole and pramipexole and to a lesser extent with tramadol.
