Oh please don't suffer in silence. Do your research on here, ask questions on here, and then go back to Dr. My RLS is by no means sorted but I am not giving up yet. Have a pre booked telephone call coming up with her and will request something new that might help. Have gathered lots of info from these RLS sites which is just as well because she hasn't much of a clue. Don't give up !!

Thanks for the info- you are likely suffering augmentation from the Pramipexol. Whatever you do- do not increase the dose-that is what is causing the problem.

If you can search "augmentation " in the drop down menu at top of page you will learn a lot about your condition.

You need to get back to your Dr and explain this and that you need to stop the Mirapex very slowly and then see about the Pregabalin dose which may or may not need to be adjusted.

After you get off the Mirapex , you should feel a bit better- but it will take time.

Good luck - and keep in touch.

You say your doctor does not have a clue so perhaps it would be a good idea to print out a copy or pass the link on to your doctor to read and digest.

It is important your doctor learns about augmentation if he/she is saying up your medication.

Then you need another doctor for your RLS symptoms. It’s not right for a dr. to give up like that - sounds like she just doesn’t want to learn about RLS, so she’s not giving you the best care. Sorry to say, but after 40 years with it (I’m 68) I’ve realized that I must educate my doctors in a kind way that they can accept. If the doc refuses, how can I stay with her? This is my only health risk, but it has a significant impact on my life (as you all experience). I’m still working it out, myself, so I know it’s not easy. Nothing about RLS is easy.

Not what you're looking for?
