Hi well once the RLS has kicked in for the night it is difficult not to think about. I usually get up when it gets unbearable and distraction does seem to help. As you said in your last question listening to music can take your mind off it. I haven't had problems for a while now as intake Ropinrole each evening which so far has kept the legs at bay or should I say at rest!

Hi garys

I've done Tai Chi for years, but it's like any other activity, whilst you are doing it, the RLS goes away and when you stop, it eventually comes back. I take Ropinirole early evening and lying on the floor stretching out helps me before going to bed. If I over exercise (I'm a Line Dancer) my legs seem to get too tired and then I suffer later. I either go on my vibrating machine or do more stretching on the floor to get relief.

Hi Gary's, yes, when my rls occurs in the evening, I know it is triggered by trapped gas. So I do a few simple yoga moves, pass the wind or go to the toilet and all is fine. I don't take meds...rather focus on the problem. See rlcure.com by David Wimbler who believes rls is caused by inflammation in the intestine. Cheers, Gwen

I'm a yoga teacher and suffer from RLS! Honestly can't say whether or not yoga has helped my RLS because I do it all of the time. Don't know how it would be if I didn't do yoga. It's such a brilliant thing for the body and the mind so maybe do it anyway?

Am very interested in Gwens article re inflammation which I'm just about to read.

I've just given up wheat and dairy and after 2 weeks have noticed a massive difference. No RLS at all for the last 3 nights.....Just unbroken sleep which is amazing.

My ferritin levels are extremely low which suggests that I'm not able to absorb and store iron. Lot's of links with abdominal inflammation and gluten and RLS.So I've decided to have a real try at changing my diet to see what happens.

Would love to wean myself off Mirapexin!

Cheers

Maureen

Yes, If I'm at the cinema or trying to rest and I think about it, my legs will start. I dread them starting up, it's so uncomfortable and it hurts, and yes, I think stress makes them worse, but then the RLS causes stress. How do you get the balance?
