E/CIG. /VAPE Did it help you?
Couldn't have done it without the vaping
I got addicted to the vape and then started smoking again. For me vaping and and smoking are too similar. So I used nicotine gum and then went cold turkey!
Having said that, I totally understand why people would choose to vape! X
Both me and hubby couldn’t have stopped smoking without it. Great invention xx
Just went cold turkey! Couldn’t get on with vaping or any other nicotine replacement aids.
for me it was having something to hold rather than smoke i did not like the tastes.
I quit cold turkey because I chose not to have any kind of nicotine replacement. Part of my decision was because I wasn't sure of the side effects of vaping, nicotine patches, gum, or Champix. I see that they do seem to work positively for many people on the site, so whatever works, go for it.
Sadly it didn't help as it just me me cough more than usual, maybe I was not vaping!! properly.
Hi Bluebelle2017, its lovely to see you here and a big warm welcome to our community
If you havnt already, please have a good look around especially at the Pinned Posts I'm just wandering BB, if it was too strong for you cos I started on 24mg e-liquid, not for long, it made me cough sooooo, went down to 18mg liquid, no coughing
Just a thought
I should have said I have copd stage 3/4 and cough anyway but vaping seems to make it worse.I wish it didn't as I have tried most of the other options. Maybe I will try a lower strength. Wish me luck
I coughed a lot while getting used to the vape. I have recently started coughing again my first few puffs in the morning and if I haven't touched it in several hours. I started on 6mg and am still at that level as I don't see the point in quitting nicotine - the nic isn't the dangerous part of smoking - it is everything else lol.
YEP, The E-cig has helped me alllllllllllllllllllll the way through my quit journey I have gone from 24mg nicotine and now down to zero nicotine but I still vape, you may ask WHY simple, I never ever ever want to smoke again BUT, my other half still smokes and until she quits, I will still vape, just to be on the safe side
You alllllllllllllllllll take care now and stay strong
I wish the poll had a yes no I don't know option because I've been quit for 4.5 months and haven't tried to quit the vaping so I don't know if I would find it hard. Most cigarette addiction is an addiction to the chemicals released burning the tobacco and to the additive companies add to the tobacco. Studies I have read show nicotine in moderation is no worse than caffeine and actually has benefits (in moderation).
I have used Ecigs & Vapes in past. I do not like them. I do not like the smell or taste of them & will never use vapes again.
I used patches and the lozenges but got myself a nicotine free e cig for the times when I really missed the action of smoking. I used it a couple of times, especially when having a drink and it really worked. Once my cravings were subsiding and I was getting out of the habit, I just found myself not using the ecig. I stopped smoking on 31.08.17 and haven't looked back! I was a smoker for over 20 years and had tried and failed several times. I honestly believe if it wasn't for the ecig then I would have failed again.
I quit cold turkey, but my husband used vaping to help him. He is on 3mg nicotine and has stayed away from cigarettes, so I think vaping is helpful. Also thought should share this tip with you guys: if you vape, buy liquid which does not contain propylene glycol, not good for lungs it seems. Cheers..
Guess I've never understood the concept of it. There are 2 undisputable facts in play here.
1.) We are addicted to nicotine.
2.) Nicotine addiction is why we smoke.
In my mind, giving yourself a drug you are trying to free yourself from is a recipe for disaster. There is a reason in the long term NRT has a 96% fail rate.
Lasted 3 months last year til i put my guard down on holiday, deluded myself i could quit once i got home!!!! However, been using my vape since last wednesday evening & no desire to smoke as yet
Tried cold turkey, patches etc but only lasted a matter of days & they were long days of constantly thinking about smoking. Vaping works for me x
I went from 35/day straight to vaping. For the first couple of weeks I regularly wanted a "real" cigarette but found that a few good "puffs" on a vape and the last thing i wanted then was a cigarette. Moving forward and this continued to work well, whilst the desire for a cigarette decreased. 21 months now and I have absolutely NO desire to smoke. For me, vapes are a great invention and Time the greatest healer!
