I had a 5cm tumour removed from my appendix in August. It had ruptured. It was identified as LAMN (low grade). The surgeon couldn't see any signs of PMP, the peritoneal wash was clear, my scans are clear and my bloods are clear. I have been referred to Basingstoke for watch and wait, but my question is: do ruptured appendiceal tumours always eventually develop into PMP even if they have been removed? Am I under watch and wait for the inevitable or might I get lucky?

Did you ever get an answer to this from a specialist?

This isn't an easy question to answer, though I will say that I don't think you have been referred to Basingstoke for the inenvitable. They are just best placed to spot PMP quicker than local hospitals, should it appear. You sound like you have had a successful op and really hopeful outcomes.
