My wife is a pseudomyoma survivor from appendix removal in 1997. Is it possible for recurrance after 25 years? She is displaying similar symptoms.

Hi Krock1 - it would be highly unusual for the disease to return after all this time. Having said that though it is always worth speaking to a medical professional, if only to rule it out. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious.

Thanks, I agree it is highly unlikely, but the cancer is so silent and rare. We thought we were done with this. I read a study with cases recurring after 16 years. I think we will approach a specialist just to be on the safe side.

I would get your case looked at by either Christie or Basingstoke, just in case.

Thank you. We live in Florida. I found a specialist at Moffit Cancer Center, so that is the route we will take.
