New to the site, 5 1/2 weeks out from Da Vinci. I filled in some info in my profile and would love to chat with others.

Howdy guys.
Welcome Hoss. I'm just 2 weeks ahead of you in the process.... 7 1/2 weeks post da Vinci RARP. How are you doing? I didn't see too much on your profile, stats, age, etc...
Hi Scott. For some reason the profile info just disappears. I had a PSA that went from 5.6 in July 2015 to 6.8 in Feb. of 2016. I had not been to a doctor in years and July was just basic physical and blood work for getting a doctor. He sent to me to a Urologist after the high PSA. After the second PSA had risen to 6.8 Urologist suggested a biopsy. 4 out of 12 cores positive. Gleason score of 7, two cores 4+3, two, 3+4. After some thinking on it decided to go ahead with Da Vinci. At first was going to wait about 6 months then decide. All went well, cancer confined to prostate, one portion in margin. Surgery was longer than normal, scar tissue from old surgery when 14. A few minor problems, reactions to every pain killer, anxiety attack, feet totally numb for 3 days, eye infection from reaction to tape over them. Catheter out after 8 days and fast and steady improvement. Pads for about a week then guards for about 10 days. Been back in my boxers for almost 2 weeks. I am not cut out for whitie tighties. A drip only now and then. Not even when I sneeze or cough. But if close to the urge to pee, I don't pass up a bathroom. Started getting a little bit of a boner at 3 weeks, about 75% at 5 weeks. This has been with my partner, not so much on my own. I just got my generic Cialis (20 mg)through a Canadian pharmacy yesterday. Suppose to take 3 per week. Took one last night and this morning had a surprise, about 95% to 98% hard. Did not last to long, but the first on my own. I did lose a little length, 1/2 inch or so, damn. But I feel I am doing really well. But still concerned about possible long term ED. don't want to have to depend on pills. I also had no symptoms at all before the PSA test.
Hoss.. it sounds like you're doing GREAT. A lot further along in the process than I am. Still wearing shields for drips/dribbles and a full guard when I go to the gym. Haven't even had a hint of an erection yet but not too worried. I think you're the exception to the rule. Good for you.
A friend of mine introduced me to a friend of his. He was 49 when he had surgery and is now 53. He gave me down and dirty gay version of what happens. I am progressing faster than he did as well. My urologist just said it is a crap shoot on side effects, no real reasoning to it at all.
Hi Hoss,
I am glad you decided to have the surgery while the "cancer confined to
prostate". I had the Da Vinci surgery in June of 2013 with a Gleason
score of 7. Mine had also not spread beyond the margin or liner
of prostate. You sound like you are doing quite well and made the correct
decision treatment wise.
you are doing fabulously well, way ahead of where many are 5 1/2 weeks out!
I was 55 when I got the biopsy results a few days before my 56th birthday. What a present.
