I live across the street from the hospital ER that accepted the victims in Orlando. I know three who perished so far. I am grateful to be alive with d2 for 6 years and be completely able to go to all the services and memorials in Orlando. I was not in the Pulse, because it was Latino night. Five helicopters from the media have been flying constant circles over my Condo until midnight Monday they stopped. Omar was a regular at the Pulse Bar and I had met him about 6 months ago. I think he could not come out to his father and had many psychological demons that created his hate of gays and lesbians even though he was a gay man. I believe as a Muslim he feared telling his father and thought his being radicalized would make his father love him. I have pity for him and all others who have been disowned by their parents because they are GLBTQI. Orlando is strong and will be better because this happened.
