2nd opinion on Biopsy

I had a Biopsy, Decipher and PSMA done at Stanford. I want to get a 2nd opinion of the Biopsy.

Both Stanford and UCSF want to do 2 sessions of HDRB without ADT (They feel with my pathology and low decipher ADT would not provide much benefit)

Uses CT and US for planing Stanford US alone

Where would go for a 2nd opinion for the Biopsy?

Thanks

Johns Hopkins is good. Or MD Anderson in Houston. It is a pretty easy process to get the 2nd opinion done.

Dr. Sartor at Mayo…they have a lot of new treatments out based on new trials.

He is world renowned, he used to be at Tulane, very accessible, can tele visit, and extremely easy to talk to.

You can have your slides sent to any of these institutions by just contacting them, they will arrange to get your slides.

My decipher was low risk and I wound up with an aggressive cancer, so I don’t hold much stock in that test.

Biopsy I had slides sent to MD Andersons and John Hopkins, as well as Texas Cancer, Tulane, Ochsner and Mayo, with each one grading a bit different….7 different hospitals total counting one I wouldn’t recommend.

Also get the Tempus XF test to check for mutations.

Here is a good website to compare odds of cure for the major treatment paths. You have to determine your stage, low risk, intermediate, or high risk (risk of recurrence). So if you are intermediate, pull up the intermediate chart and you can see the odds of 10-20 yr survival, etc. based on the treatment you pick.

It is best viewed on computer or just print it on paper. Not so viewable on phone.

To make the graphs easier to read, i drew a dot on the endpoints of the elipses, and then drew a line through the dots. This turns the elipses into lines.

Also be aware the the graphs don’t show any salvage radiation benefit. This would boost the surgery odds up a bit.

And, this is a very dysfunctional industry from my view. Loads of bad info mixed in with the good info. Same with the docs. Some of them are more dangerous than the cancer.
