Looking for recommendations/opinions about salvage radiation at UCSF
Mack Roach
I second Tall Allen with Mack Roach he did my SRT..in June 2016.
what sort of protocol (PSA level trigger, treatment days, dosage, ADT prep, etc ..) and equipment was used?
am looking at either UCSF or Stanford if I need SRT in the coming year(s)
want the great care and the best equipment
Read my profile...no ADT..I was at PSA of 0.183 for SRT...UCSF had latest and greatest equip.
thx
what was your decipher score ?
who at UCSF was the radiation oncologist ?
how many radiation sessions?
why did you skip ADT ?
I may not have the Decipher score exactly correct but Dr. Davis at MD Anderson explained it as a 25% chance of developing metastasis in the future.
Mack Roach at UCSF.
38 Radiation treatments.
I did my research and there were minimal benefits of combining ADT and radiation for men with low psa values increasing over the time period my psa increased. Actually the slight benefit was delaying distant metastasis and no overall survival benefit. I took the risk to avoid dealing with ADT side effects. I wanted to continue to live a life without the side effects of ADT until I absolutely need to go that direction. Mack Roach was insistent in his recommendation of ADT and radiation.
Good luck!
