Vets who know about Champ VA for spouses

Greetings, Vets. If your spouse is Medicare age and qualifies for the Champ VA insurance, I have a couple questions. My husband has 100% VA disability due to Agent Orange related Prostate Cancer.

1. Does Champ VA completely replace all of Medicare--A, B, D and private Medigap policies, all co-pays for private insurance. In other words, does Champ VA totally replace all of Medicare, including Medigap policies and drug policies?

Or:

2. Does the Champ VA only kick in for policy Parts D and Medigap policies? I currently have BCBC regular Medicare, the Part D, and a Medigap policy. I'd love to replace the Medigap and Drug policies with Champ VA if the coverage is as good or superior.

3. Do all your non-VA doctors accept Champ VA?

4. What's been your experience with Champ VA?

5. How did you sign up?

No rush, but thank you in advance.

Thanks so much, Bill68! We had a DVA service rep help my husband negotatiate his disability in the first place--great guy. I'll go that route. Best to you and your family.
