How to care for husband undergoing Lu177

My husband started Lu177 today. The doc made it sound like it would be a walk in the park, which we both know is a joke. Throughout the day, he said he had aches unlike any he’s ever experienced. Can some of you please share your experiences with this so I know what to expect and can help my husband more effectively?

Every patient is different. My husband has had 2 Pluvicto treatments so far, and no side effects whatsoever.

I am sorry your husband is having pain. Does Tylenol help?

I think my husband wishes he would have a side effect so he would know it is doing something! I know that isn’t necessarily true, but he is impatient waiting for scans.

Best of luck to you on this journey!

Hi High_flyer!

My husband is scheduled for Pluvicto #3 next week. He's had a much easier time tolerating these treatments compared to past docetaxel treatments. Like Leebeth said...we were almost hoping for some bone pain too, but he had none. No nausea. His labs have been coming back with lower PSA and his blood counts are all looking better. We have bone scans & CT scans scheduled soon, so we're anxious about those. Hoping to see some good news with the scans. But for right now, we're cautiously optimistic with the lab work and how much better he's feeling.

I know your original post was about 2 weeks ago. Hoping your husband is feeling better. Wishing you so much luck. Wishing us all so much luck!

Thank you. He is better, but definitely has fatigue. I agree it doesn’t seem as bad as taxotere. He has round 2 in 3 weeks. Wish us luck!
