just throwing a question out there?

I don't know if its just me and my hormones but why do people come on here saying could I be pregnant, if you have had unprotected sex then theres a gd chance, surely wait till your next period is due and do a test???

I sometimes feel that inability to talk to elders in the family or lack of general sex-education in the school or society, might be a reason for many to wonder.

Also noticed that a lot of women who ask these questions are themselves babies of hardly 20-21 years. I am sure I was not aware of many things when I was this young and ofcourse had i been pregnant than, I would have been worrying much more ! (I am 29 now, and this is my first baby and i still worry a lot and call my mom every now and then to ask if this is normal or that is normal)

Some of us are probably fortunate to have people around to answer and share, but you never know what another person's situation is :)

I think it's excitement and also lack of knowledge, alot if ladies don't seem to understand ovulation and fertile days and just assume u can get pregnant at any time, this is not the case!

But hey I don't mind repeating myself to help others, it was only when I became fully aware of the reproductive system and how complex it can be did i truly understand the difficulties getting pregnant and how crucial timing and environment was.

I agree with the op. Could copy and paste the same answer to all those questions 'yes you could be, do a test'!

Hi I had periods throughout my pregnancy and no symptoms till 7 months. First two tests (done 3 weeks apart and I was 2 months pregnant) came up negative. I didn't however have unprotected sex. So its never as easy as unprotected sex + pregnancy symptoms = BABY. That's why people ask incase there are other people in similar situations and I know most state their last date in cycle and its common sense they're more then likely then pregnant but sometimes its nice to be 'reasurred' by women in similar situations :-)

I agree! Do a test, then you'll know!

like i said just might be the way i am feeling right now, but i am a youngish (24) first time mum and don't think age comes into it, i know many people may feel confused and want opinions on various things such as fertility etc just when people ask i have had unprotected sex am i pregnant its just a bit of a silly question tbh as the answer is always going to be quite possibly???

Never occurred to you that this might be how some people are. They ask (in your eyes) silly questions for comfort or reassurance or could be that they can't go to their doctors or haven't got the courage to go buy a pregnancy test. Okay, some are ridiculous. (Done pregnancy tests all positive) but some aren't and I personally think posts like yours and gemmw's are rude and more 'silly' then those that ask about if they're pregnant.

I am soooo glad someone else has been getting annoyed with that! I wouldn't ask someone else if I was pregnant.. If I my self don't know how the hell will anyone else... No one can say 'yea your pregnant ' or 'no your not' posting aquestion on here isn't going to help them in the slightest so what is the point... It really does annoy me and I'm not going to put it down to hormones... X

And negative test or not most of the time these women don't do a test they just ask and if they get a negative test still how can anyone on here tell them yes or no... Sorry but go to your fricking doctor or something!

in reply togemmw

Could be more as to why they haven't gone to their doctor or brought a pregnancy test. Lifes not black and white.

Yes I've been wondering the same thing it gets on my nerves too lol!! like Gemm says half the time they don't seem to apply any common sense or tests!

one I think u will find, reading our posts that we are not the only ones who think this and two u just said it, some peoples questions are ridiculous! and if u read below it says don't name and shame individuals and as there are others who also agreed with us maybe u should realise that u are the 'silly' one!!

in reply to

Did I name and shame anyone, no. And read below!? Share, inform and support. These posts don't support, they're unnecessary and rude.
