Ive just found out im 6weeks pregnant,is it normal to be having period like cramps? im so scared something might be wrong..

Congratulations! It is completely normal and can last for a few weeks. I had them too, and many other ladies here also experienced them. As long as you don't have sharp piercing pains or bright red bleeding, you don't have to worry.

I had those from 4wks - I'm 8 now and the entire time there has hardly been a moment when there hasn't been something like that going on in my insides!

like you I was very worried and went to see Drs a few times.

the Drs put it down to wind / indigestion - but I agree with you, it does feel like pre-periord pains.

I had a scan at 6 weeks and every thing looked totally fine.

so don't panic!!!

I would say, If you have bleeding & a degree of pain I would be inclined to contact the Early Pregnancy Unit at your local hospital for advice or even a check up. Have you registered your pregnancy with your doctor? If not when you do you should be given information pack and a 'booking' appt with the midwife from 8+ weeks, this is a lengthy consult so allow an hour or so as complete family history, urine, bloods & BP. Thanks everyone for your replys, sadly today i started having a small bleed in my discharge, went to see my GP he has signed me off work and ordered me to have bed rest as im a threat of a misscarriage, as i have already had 2 misscarriages i am just waiting for it to happen again.. Just my luck.. On the upside i do have a beautiful 2year old so i do count myself as blessed. xx
