I am 10 weeks pregnant and my breasts have been itchy for the past 3 weeks but now it's driving me mad! Is anyone else experiencing this and if so have you found anything which relieves it?

unbearably itchy breasts
Aww, sorry :s, I know how that feels! Its my first too, and I experienced this from about 12 weeks - 22 weeks pregnant! Have you bought your maternity bra's? I was wearing my normal bra's up to around 22 weeks, and the moment I got measured in mothercare, and tried on one of the maternity bra's , my breasts instantly felt more relief :), turns out I had outgrown my normal bra's and this was contributing to the itching , suggest you get your maternity bra's before I did , as this should help hopefully!
Also buy yourself so gel ice packs if you can and use them wrapped in a towel , against your breast to cool them down - wish I had known that works! Apparently cooled cabbage leaves (uncooked) lol works a treat too ( according to my mum)
im 38 weeks now , and the itchy breasts has stopped - but now due to stretching , my bump is driving me mad!!!! The stretch-marks are soooo itchy! Its worse at night , so suggest you prepare for that too!
Good luck with everything! Hope this helps, sorry if it doesn't! If you really are finding them too itchy, you could try talking to your midwife for advice

Thank you all so so much for taking the time to write to me - i'm off to get ice packs, a new bra and good old nivea - will give them all a go. I feel so relieved to know i'm not the only one! Felt like I was going a bit mad.
Raogbole - not long now for you! All the very best to you. x
Thats ok yep it was a bit concerning for me too, I was literally scratching my self to pieces , had cuts all over my breasts! I know , there isnt very long left at all :), just excited to meet my baby , thanks, all the best to you too, hope that the itching is relieved! x
Sounds like the best plan - it's surprisingly early when you need to move into maternity bras. And, if you're anything like me, look out for those bra extenders too - my cup size hasn't increased much since the early months (I'm now 32 weeks), but the circumference has quite a bit and the extender has saved me forking out on several bras in increasing sizes!
If it's causing you that much grief though, I think it might eb worth mentioning to the midwife. I don't know but isn't there something to do with blood pressure that increases your itchiness?
Good luck
K
I know exactly what you're talking about, had the same problem around 5 - 4 weeks ago despite using bio oil twice a day. Asked my midwife who gave me sample of a nipple cream - no good, bought E45 itchy cream - no good, various lotions - no good, untill I slapped sudo cream on. What a relief!!! It did make my nipples dry though, but better than itchy, no doubt. Then I started using Nivea Creme, the original, old fashioned thick one and I've had no problems since. Also used the same stuff on my bump and ears, strangely my ear lobes were red hot and itchy too. Hope this helps, if not, don't waste your time and book yourelf a GP appointment who can prescribe something. Good luck!
