Itchy Skin
Hi Bennett-family,
Itchy skin during pregnancy is often just the skin stretching, and it is not unusual.
Our article about it gives you some tips on relievng the discomfort and also when to know to check in with your doctor about your symptoms: nct.org.uk/pregnancy/itchin...
Hope this helps!
Best wishes,

Thanks you x
Hi hun yep this is normal, was experiencing extremely itchy skin around that time too, am now 29 weeks nearly, and its not so bad anymore, what seems to have helped me is drinking more water , as I was not drinking nearly enough! My neck , and face were quite bad , and other areas but that seems to have calmed down a lot now, and I really do recommend drinking more water if your not already, also a good quality , non scented moisturiser should help, maybe you could try camomile lotion , and when I overheat at night , I tend to get more itchy, so I often try to minimize wearing thick clothes during the day and night, but obviously its starting to get cold now, so cant really avoid it anymore! hope this helps , sorry if it doesnt xx
I have four children. My last pregnancy I got "pregnancy itch". I feel for you- It didnt go away and itched so much I would scratch and bleed in my sleep. One Dr I saw said put up with it, another wanted me to take phenergan to relieve the itch (which I wouldnt do anyway). Thats the bad. The good is I found a great naturopath that gave me some magic cream generally used for exchma. Try a local naturopath (Mr Moon was the name of mine in QLD). Good luck
