Hi Riverlands,

Congratulations on the pregnancy! Sorry to hear that sickness has continued for so long, but it isn't uncommon.

We have a few tips on our website for easing nausea during pregnancy, you may find something you havent tried yet! nct.org.uk/pregnancy/nausea...

Hope this helps.

Best,

Alice

Hi Alice

Thank you for your reply. I will pass on to the mother-to-be (I'm her husband!).

Thank you for your reply Kc. They sound a much better option than other more sugary biscuits.

If she is being sick a lot then check out this website pregnancysicknesssupport.or...

Thank you Hatting. Looks like they have some reassuring help and hope it's not as severe as HG.

Hi Caela, Thank you! and thank you for your helpful suggestions. She is tending towards dry food and boiled sweet might help, I remember they helped me with nausea in cars as a child. Best wishes and hope your nausea eases soon.

I am normally getting bad evening sickness, which comes right at the lets-cook-dinner-time, so I feel horibble. yesterday I just pressed a very tiny piece of raw ginger in my teeth and hey! it worked !! I was feeling much nicer with that really really tiny ginger on my tounge.

Hi Ritz, Brilliant tip! I have plenty of fresh ginger and will see if she is up for some now! Thanks again and hope your nausea eases soon.

I was finding that eating small amounts regularly was the best way to not feel sick - even when I didn't really want food, making sure I didn't have an empty stomach helped a lot. Also, in the mornings it definitely helped to not rush - I would drink tea and eat toast in bed, before moving about too much, and just get ready really slowly. The only times I didn't do that, I was sick! Sweet stuff was not helpful for me - just seemed to make things worse, but probably varies a lot depending on individual. Also, when I couldn't face tea, hot water with fresh lemon and ginger was great. Good luck to you both :)

Hi Sara, Thank you for taking the time to respond with such considered feedback. To hear that rushing makes you feel worse will help her. Best wishes.

I had awful nausea until 17 weeks. I tried ginger (tea, biscuits, raw etc), peppermint tea, seasickness bands, all the usual things. The only way I felt any better was to eat extra strong mints! I think it was a mixture of the sugar and the strong mint flavour taking away the grotty taste in my mouth. Also eating constantly helped, especially melon for some reason!

Hope she feels better soon, it really is just hideous!

Just to add, getting hungry made it much worse. I still feel sick/heave now if I get hungry and that is at 36 weeks!
