Hi all I am in 11th week of pregnancy. today all of a sudden i felt as my periods started. when checked it was brown discharge with thread like structures.

i dnt have any nausea, vomiting, just sometimes mouth taste changes and sore breasts.

12 week scan is due next week.

Any suggestions plz what could be the reason?is it dangerous or should i wait for the scan?

thanks

Hi, if you are using pessaries it might be irritation from them. I had brown for a few weeks and also a big bleed which was from a heamatoma. Try get your scan done earlier if possible so you don't worry.

Hi lovely,

It could be a subchorionic haematoma which is basically a bruise in the uterus. I had one at 17 weeks and bled brown blood for about 3 weeks. The baby was completely unaffected but it’s scary seeing blood during pregnancy.

I would get an early scan if you can just for reassurance.

Xx
