Stopping medication for preeclampsia after birth

I was told to keep taking the medication (labetalol) until my 6 week checks (today). The disinterested gp said I could just stop taking it but the leaflet says to reduce to stop.

Can I ask whether anyone else stopped cold turkey?

I was on a 2000mg in pregnancy and dropped to 400mg since. Blood pressure has been wonderfully normal since not long after birth.

Hi there, I was advised by hospital not to stop cold turkey & to taper off. I was on two tablets a day ( sorry I don’t know dosage) so dropped to 1 a day for a week then 1 every second day then stopped completely. I had a home blood pressure monitor just for my own peace of mind.x Maybe double check with a different GP?

thank you for replying. I don’t know what I was expecting but the gp I saw very much didn’t really want to be there and was very dismissive. I have left a message with the surgery so will wait to hear back.
