Intolerance and allergy advice please

At first, my son had all the allergies: peanuts, egg, milk and always had a reaction to most new foods. Now he is 15 months old and is on the milk ladder; slowly climbing up on step 2 of ladder and doing really well with milk desensitisation. He also reacts less to new foods and building up his tolerance. I really want to get him to start desensitising to his other two allergies, egg and peanut. I searched desensitisation programs but there aren't really any out there. I'm thinking of starting my own egg ladder or my own peanut ladder because I don't want him to be allergic or even just highly sensitive for his life. I'm scared he'll grow up to be like Natalie so I'm trying to desensitise him while he's young.

Any tips or advice on beating allergies would be great. Has anyone tried any homemade egg ladders or such?

Hi, my son had an egg allergy at 6 months when we were weaning. He was seen by a doctor and allergy clinic and advised to do an egg ladder (very common - if you Google egg ladder nhs, you’ll find lots of examples) - by 18 months he could tolerate mayonnaise so I think it’s a fairly common allergy that can be outgrown but obviously check with your doctors that this is suitable for him (my sons allergy was mild)

For peanut, I am not sure - I’ve not heard of a peanut ladder before so not sure about that. It would probably depend on the type of reaction he has as well. My son has a sesame allergy also and we were advised to avoid it completely and they will test him again at his second birthday to see if it has been outgrown but his allergy is much stronger and he has an epi pen for this one.

I’d not advise doing any homemade ladders unless you’ve had a doctor confirm it is suitable for your son as every child / allergic reaction is different.

Thank you so much for your advice. It's good to hear you did an egg ladder. I'm definitely going to try it. Thanks again
