laxido paediatric for 2.5 yr old

Hi everyone, my Son was having hard stools for some time so I figured it could be because he does not really like having lot of water and is fussy about eating fruits but loves every vegetable. I somehow increased his water intake and the stools got much softer but now he has got this fear of pooping and poops only once in 3 to 4 days .

So I called the GP she suggested giving him Laxido paediatric two sachets morning and evening. Now I’m having a crazy time as he does not like the taste of it.

I wanted to check if any of you have given Laxido with milk as, he likes milk.

Is is safe to do that?

Any help / Suggestions would be of great help

Thank you so much

Both my boys have had some issues with constipation or hard stools on and off. Both of mine have either been given paediatric movicol or paediatric laxido. I can't see why it can't be added to milk. I normally dissolve it in weak squash or fruit juice to get them to drink it.

Thank you so much for reply. My sons hates any kind of fruit flavours so I’m thinking of adding just a 1 or 2 table spoon of milk in it so when he checks the colour and sees it’s white he will have it.

I’m thinking he does not like anything sweet .

Hi there. My 15 month old son has been on this for months, when on formula I put it in that and it didn't work I've been many different doctors and I was told recently twice I shouldn't be putting it in milk (cows milk) as because of the acid and ingredients in milk it doesn't dissolve properly, I would check with your gp as they may say different

Thank you for your reply and yes, I did check with my GP and she asked me to check with the local pharmacist as she said they would know better which I found strange.

How did you manage giving the drink to your baby after that? If I may ask .

Thank you

What's his favourite drink? At first he took it no bother but now if its in his juice it's like no I know its in it so he now drinks his sisters juice. But I would try putting it through his favourite drink thats not milk and see how goes , maybe offer in different cup as he may think its an experience

thank you so much for replying. He has no other favourite drink apart from milk but now I’m trying to figure out if he likes anything else like fruit juices . He does not like fruits but will still try if he likes any thing else.

Thank you so much
