Implantation bleeding should be around 1 to 2 days, it's very light and pinkish. I've not heard of it lasting 12 days, are you registered with your midwife or doctors yet? It might be worth giving them a call to get some advice about it.

How do you know it's implantation bleeding?

That sounds like a very long period or some other issue. An implantation bleed is a splodge or a smear of blood that only appears on that day and then doesn't come back again. As the fertilised egg embeds into the uterus it, makes a little splat and that's it
