my parter and my self are trying for a baby. My cycle varies between 28 days and 52 days (28 days has been the shortest cycle and 52 days the longest). I have also been tracking my ovulation and have been getting busy around the time I’ve been ovulating.
With my cycle length varying from month to month when do you think is the best time to take a pregnancy test? (Should I wait until I’m actually late past 52 days which is 7 weeks or should I be doing a test sooner?).
How many of you have had this problem and gone on to have a baby and how long did it take you?
I’ve also seen a Doctor and they’ve said there is nothing to worry about my cycle lengths are normal.
Any help or advice most appreciated

Hey if you are tracking when you ovulate, are you finding that your period tends to arrive around 2 weeks after that? No matter what the total cycle length is.
If so, then you’d be best waiting 2 weeks (or whatever your average amount of time after ovulation your cycle is) after you ovulate and testing then.
If you want to test more often a cost effective way is buying the cheaper test strips you can get online rather than ones like clear blue from the shops which can be expensive. They can be less sensitive, so won’t pick up the hcg hormone as early as other tests but much cheaper if you might be testing often.
I am exactly the same as you. Cycles ranging from 28 to 54. In the main between 35-45 days too. I have gone on to have my daughter who is now 6 months old. 💕
It took us a year to comceive - I had done all the dr’s test too and they confirmed I was fine just irregular! My ovulation was too all over the place. The cycle she was conceived on I think it was day 42 I actually ovulated and she was successful. I checked 2 weeks after that due to not knowing when a period would be late! I used the strip pregnancy tests. (I’d been using so many anyway). Very very faint line to start with and just kept getting better each day!
I had also used those ovulation sticks as it was so difficult to see when I’d ovulate too. Some months it appeared k didn’t ovulate at all which appears can happen.
