Define go wrong? There can be faulty tests with no control and tests that yield an evaporation line even in the correct time frame. It is also possible to have a negative test very early in pregnancy due to insufficient hCG in the urine, but that is not the test going wrong. Very occasionally, tests can be negative even when there is plenty of hCG. It is pretty much unheard of to have a false positive unless on certain medication for IVF or potentially around the time of ovulation as LH cross-reacts. xx
