I had horrendous heartburn, I got the biggest bottles of Gaviscon and used to just swig straight from the bottle. I keep one in my bedroom and one downstairs, so I always had some close. I found the liquid much better than the tablets you have to chew.

I have really bad heartburn too!! My doctor said gaviscon is fine to take… haven’t tried it yet! It’s really bad today too, making me feel sick! Xx

I find Gaviscon helps but it can take a few doses. Small meals and sleeping propped more upright in your left if you can. I had it bad last week and Gaviscon didn’t help so Dr prescribed omeprazole. Typically I have been better this week so haven’t needed it but you take that once a day.

Talk to your doctor and they can prescribe you Omeprazole. It’s brilliant and the only thing that made it bearable for me xx

Another vote for omeprazole - I got heartburn really suddenly around 24 weeks and couldn't sleep, even water was painful and I was being sick/spitting (delightful, I know!). I've had a stomach ulcer from an illness in the past that wasn't as bad(!) and it made me really miserable. Gaviscon worked a bit at first but then stopped having any effect. Within about 5 mins of taking omeprazole it had gone and wish I'd gone straight to GP when it started. One every other day seems to keep me covered and being able to eat and drink normally again has cheered me up so much. So I think it depends how bad it is - you could get it prescribed and see how often you need it. Apparently it should go on its own from birth so not too long on meds anyway.

Another vote for omeprozole. It really works. Gaviscon doesn't touch the sides!

Get Omeprozole! Couple of days you'll be back to normal its a golden elixir and I took it last 8 weeks with my girl and she's a perfectly healthy 12 month old now so it is safe xx

I got omeprozile too and it took the edge off but really the only cure is giving birth 😂 literally instantly it was gone! When baby dropped in the final weeks it also helped a lot too…. Not much longer to go 🤗 xx

Gaviscon - or if it’s like I had it, go to your GP and get Omepreyzole (I’ve spelt it incorrectly) prescribed
