Hi, I'm having bright red bleeding after sex (the last three times). It doesn't continue for very long, less than an hour, but it's a lot all at once. I'm 3 months postpartum. I had a C-section. My bleeding stopped at 6w and then I had what I thought was a period around 8w. I haven't had a period since. It has been over a month. Took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Why am I bleeding after sex? Anyone know if it's normal? I don't have healthcare anymore, so I'm trying to avoid a trip to the ER if it isn't necessary.

Bleeding after sex (3months postpartum)
Why don't you make an appointment to see your GP ? I don't think anyone on here will be able to give you any medical advice. Are you up to date with your smear tests? I had spotting after sex and when I had a smear I had some abnormal cells that I needed to have removed. It doesn't sound like something you need to attend an ER for as it's not an emergency if it's only happening briefly after sex.
As stated, I only had health insurance up to six weeks after the birth of my son. I no longer have insurance. I did have a procedure for abnormal cell removal about seven weeks after my son was born. A smear I had while I was pregnant showed abnormal cells so I had my crevice frozen. I'm supposed to go back in December for another smear, but I don't know if I'll be able to afford it. I just don't have the money to see my OB without insurance right now.
Sorry I'm in the UK and we have a different system, so we don't have to have a health insurance it's just paid for in our taxes and everyone gets it regardless of what they've paid in. I'm so sorry it must be really scary if you can't afford healthcare and I'm sorry I missed it in your postThe NCT charity is a UK charity so you might not get many people who can advise you of your best course of action in the US.
I think most people on here are in the UK and the health system works totally differently there, they're not used to navigating the minefield of insurance coverage - or lack of it! All I can think of is to see if there's a public sexual health clinic near you where you could see a gynae? Hope you can find out what's going on xxx
This is something that would need looking at especially if you say you had abnormal cells on last smear. Would have thought gynae more appropriate than ER tho. Are there no free clinics in your area? I wouldn't ignore this.
There's nothing free here, unfortunately. That's not how the states work. Maybe if I was low income I would have options, but any kind of assistance I apply for would also ask for my household income and my fiance makes way too much, per the states standards, which in reality isn't enough to come out of pocket for any medical costs that require a specialist. It could be $300+ and I don't have that kind of money. I'll figure out something, I hope.
