Gushing blood after intercourse

I have been actively trying to get pregnant since June. My periods have been normal until August I was late. The week after I was suppose to start my period (8/9-8/14) I had light bloody discharge. The following week (8/17-8/21) I had a normal period. Then week 8/30 - 9/03 I started having bloody discharge again. On September 12 after intercourse I had some spotting. Then Monday I woke up to a blood soaked bed I went to the toilet and felt a rush coming out of me and like 4 big clots. I never experienced this before. I had really heavy bleeding with no cramping 9/13-9/15. Yesterday and today I just have normal bleeding with light cramping.

I had no sign/symptoms of being pregnant.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

Could I be having a miscarriage?

I think you'll need to speak to your doctor to see if you've had a miscarriage, they can check your cervix and do blood tests. If your period was late in August did you take a pregnancy test at the time? If that was negative then you might just be having a strange cycle. I've had periods with huge clots of blood so they don't always mean you've had a miscarriage, bleeding also doesn't always mean that you've had a miscarriage if you are pregnant so it could be worth taking a pregnancy test anyways to see if you are pregnant.
