I suffer with anxiety abs lately have seen a story about a poor 8 month old that unfortunately got Leukemia. It’s terrified me and, now I’m really anxious about my 7 month old. She has suffered with colic and reflux abs tummy troubles but, tummy pain can be a symptom. I know it sounds completely irrational and, people will say try and tell yourself she is healthy etc however, the worry is terrifying. Anyone got any tips on how to tackle this?
Thank you

Sorry to hear you’re struggling with this. Have you had any professional support for your anxiety? It’s so normal to worry about every single thing when you’ve got a little one, but if it’s having a big impact on you & your well-being might be worth a chat with your health visitor or GP for some support?
Although sadly horrible illnesses like this do occur, they are very rare so the odds are always in favour of it being something more straightforward. Often it’s a combination of symptoms that will indicate a serious illness rather than just one thing like tummy ache (not always but again, things like this are fortunately rare).
Do you have many people to chat to with babies of a similar age? Must be tough having your little girl during lockdown. Being around other mums might help you to normalise the things you’re seeing with your baby so perhaps try joining some groups as they reopen, or maybe some local mums groups online? If you see that loads of other babies are similar it might ease your mind a little? x
