Pregnancy fitness apps

Hello all,

I’m 13 weeks pregnant. Just coming off a lot of IVF drugs and want to get back into fitness. I need a great online pregnancy fitness app - preferably with Pilates too to get me back on track. Any suggestions please?

Thanks all 🙏

Xx

Hello 👋 congrats on the pregnancy hifer. Been following your journey and so pleased for you!

I was a avid runner before i got pregnant but stopped in the lead up to ivf so i was desperate to keep doing something but was really obviously worried with it being an ivf pregnancy not to do anything too strenuous.

I use Alo Moves, they do a prenatal yoga and prenatal HIIT and they have a a few sessions for each trimester. I also try to go for brisk walks to keep my cardio up, i have treadmill at home so do some uphill walking too. My midwife said it was all fine. I guess only thing to be careful with is the stomach and back exercises, but the pregnancy specific work outs avoid dangerous moves anyway. Wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy xxx

Thank you so much 😊. You know exactly how I feel then as I’ve been so so cautious but now just need to start getting back to it. Thanks a lot for the tips. I’ve been thinking about getting a treadmill for ages but I think I might just actually bite the bullet. Thank you xx

Hi Hifer,I’m also 13 weeks after IVF and tapering/withdrawing from support drugs (progesterone, Clexane and estrogen). Just wondered what you meant about getting back to fitness - had the drugs been affecting you, but you feel better now/more energy?

Just wondering if I’m missing something! (I’ve been walking decent distances throughout, but decided to stop the running as it didn’t feel right for me - I’m not very good at doing a ‘gentle pace’!)

But I know the advice generally is that youre ok to continue doing exercise, usually at a slightly more modest rate, if your body is used to it.

Good luck!

Thanks for your message and congrats on your 13 weeks too 👏👏. Yes the first trimester has been pretty bad. I’ve been completely wiped out. 1600mg Cyclogest every day, Prontogest injections every other day, 10mg Progynova every day, 200 mgs of Everol patches every other day, aspirin and Dalteparin injections every day! Some days I could barely get out of bed let alone go for a walk. Just coming off meds this week so hoping to go back to some sort of normality 🤞🤞. Xx

Gosh sounds you’ve really suffered there. Your drug cocktail sounds similar to mine, but with you on double the dose of cyclogest (and I see prontogest is a buttock injection - ouch. Mine was Lubion in the tum). I’m very thankful to have got away symptom free then. Glad you are feeling better now, hope it continues and you find some exercise that suits! x

So lovely to see your updates on here :)I like the Sworkit app, it has pregnancy and postpartum workouts you can do at home with no equipment, and pretty good videos showing all the exercises. Have to confess I haven't been doing any exercise lately though!!

I confess to not having used it much yet (and I’m 12 weeks 4 days) but I downloaded an app called Baby To Bump and it’s got lots of workouts on there and lots of mental well-being stuff as well.. a real mix of stuff depending on what you fancy doing. It also has pelvic floor exercises on there which I need to do more of!! Xx

Congratulations!! So wonderful to see that you’re pregnant! I second the “body got by Amy” on YouTube. Nancy Taylor’s workouts (also on YouTube) were great too!
