Missed miscarriage

Hi, I experienced a missed miscarriage on the 1st of December. I went to a 10 week ultrasound and was told my baby had stopped growing at 6w4d. It’s been nearly 7 weeks now and I have no period and no sign of any period symptoms to indicate it’s coming. I have took multiple pregnancy tests so I am not pregnant. Is it normal for it to take this long for my period to return ? We want to start ttc immediately as it’s just something we both want very much and we feel like we can’t untill I get my period so we can start tracking my cycle again. Any advice would be welcome. Also, I had an internal ultrasound after my miscarriage which said all the tissue had passed.

Sorry to hear you had a MMC. I had one when I went for my 12 week scan and the baby stopped growing at 5 weeks 6 days. It took 7 weeks for my period to start after it passed. the most horrific period I had had but it cleared everything out. My hormones were everywhere which probably did not help. Hope this helps in some ways.

Thank you so much for your reply. Sorry to hear you went through a MMC too.. it’s truly devastating especially when you assume everything is ok and you have to find out at an ultrasound. Love and happiness to you xx

Sorry for your loss. Its heartbreaking when it happens.

Very similar to you re times, having a MMC at 10 weeks. Like Ifan, it also took 7 weeks to get my period.

You can start trying before then but it does make it harder for them to date it initially.

Hope some happier news comes your way this year x

Hi! I was worried when mine didn’t start again after my miscarriage. About 7 weeks after my miscarriage I went for a gynaecology scan at a local scanning and fertility place. They were great and even pinpointed where I was in my cycle. They told me I would ovulate the following week which surprised me because I was expecting a period first but they were correct. I had a positive ovulation test the following week, then a period as normal after that. I then got pregnant the month after so keep your head up 😊 xx

Hey :-) I got my period today thankfully, so I hope to start tracking now with ovulation kits. I’m so glad to hear you got pregnant the month after it gives me hope when I hear stories like yours. I wish you all the best and thank you so much for your reply xx

Great news! Isn’t it crazy being happy for getting a period but I know exactly how you feel!! It’s such a rollercoaster. Wishing you lots of luck. I’ve had two miscarriages, one missed and one spontaneous and I’m now 24 weeks pregnant and although I’ll always worry, all seems to be going well this time. Stay positive. 😊 xx

Oh wow I’m so happy to hear your 24 weeks.😃🥰 I’m sure you are worried but try to enjoy your pregnancy 🤰 you are over half way there now!

I was very uneducated about miscarriage... I assumed because I’m only 25 that everything would go smooth sailing but I now realise just how common it is no matter what age you are or how healthy you are also. This app has really helped me hearing stories like yours. The best of luck with the remainder of your pregnancy. I wish you all the love and happiness ❤️

I'm sorry for you I had same you 5days ago, I'm in very bad mood, I wanted so much this baby, I still bleeding and have very strong pain in my tummy, I don't know when that will stop, yes they said you can try again after one or two normal periods, I'm in beginning now, I don't know what will happen after, I don't have any idea to give to you because that's my first MMC

Sorry for your loss. After I had a mmc last March it took nearly 2 months to get my period back, I think it’s normal for your body to take time to get back to normal, it’s nothing to worry about x

Ah that’s good to hear..... just little helpful tip for you....... I found it very difficult to not take pregnancy tests like all the time, I got obsessed with them and it didn’t do my mental health any good. I went a week without taking on and found out I was pregnant as I felt different. Good luck trying again 😊 I wish you the best x
