Info on peppermint gaviscon

I am 30 week pregnant. I have heartburn. I take gaviscon peppermint. Is it OK? does peppermint do any harm to me or the baby?

Dont know about peppermint or other flavours but gaviscon and other heartburn relief syurps or tablets cause lowering iron absorption and eventually iron level decreases.

Try milk for heartburn

It's fine, I chugged it back by the bottle as I found that more effective than the tablets. The doctor will prescribe it for you if you call them if your finding you getting heartburn a lot. nhs.uk/medicines/gaviscon/#...

I have been taking gaviscon with peppermint since my first trimester I'm in my third now

Gaviscon is safe during pregnancy. I have also got some tablets from the doctor if you are really suffering, they are called Omeprazole they and are safe in pregnancy also. I was getting heartburn all the time after eating or drinking. I have not had heartburn or indigestion since taking these (one tablet a day) they have been fantastic! Talk to your doctor if you are worried.
