This is what citizens advice says “Ask your employer if you can go to each of your appointments - you might need to show them your appointment card.

In rare cases your employer can refuse to let you go to an appointment, but they have to be reasonable. It won’t usually be reasonable for them to question medical advice you’ve had from a doctor, nurse or midwife.

It can be reasonable to ask you to book some appointments outside working hours if you can. But they should accept that you might not have much choice over when your appointments are.” But you are legally entitled to paid time off for appointments and if they want you to have appointments outside working hours to save money, that’s not a valid reason xx

Agree with the comments in the previous post. If there is a good business reason why they’re asking you to change I would consider it if you can. The best way to receive flexibility from an employer is to also offer it where you can too.

If you’re not able to change maybe try to explain why to your employer.

I also tried where possible to get appts either at the start of the day or at the end in order to minimise disruption to the business.

May I ask if you’re high risk or under consultant care to have weekly appts? I hardly ever saw mine!!!

Your boss can ask if you can move your appointment to suit the business needs but they can't make you move your appointment. You're legally entitled to paid time off to attend them.

I think it's always best to try and work with your employer, so if you could reschedule an appointment but not at risk to you or babies health then you might be able to accommodate their request but if not you're within your rights not to and to be able to attend your appointment.
