I had an anterior placenta and it’s nothing to worry about at all.

I didn’t feel kicks until about 22 weeks and they weren’t very hard but that was my first baby x

I've got an AP and felt movement at 18 weeks then kicks from 19, placenta had moved higher from 16 to 20 week scans so felt loads more.

Dont worry if you dont tho as its totally normal with an AP xx

I don’t think I felt much until getting towards 25 weeks. But it was also my first pregnancy so I imagine that pushed it later.

I’ve got an AP and I’m 23 weeks, I only started to feel movements at about 21 weeks and they have only just started to get a little stronger now. I posted about the exact same thing last week as it worried me but it’s very normal! :)

Currently 32 weeks with an interior placenta . Apparently its quite common.

I didn't feel movement until well into 20 weeks plus and at 32 weeks still not as strong as some. Its like a little punchbag for baby x

I wish I had an anterior placenta! 😫 Mine is posterior and I've felt babys first kicks from 15 weeks...and this is my first baby!! I can feel baby move and kick all day everyday and let me tell you the kicks to the cervix hurt so bad! I can only imagine what I'm going to be feeling in a couple more weeks I'll be 24 weeks in a few days. But not to worry totally normal with an anterior placenta not to feel as much movement...while I love feeling baby and knowing hes ok these kicks are starting to hurt 🙃 xxx

I have a posterior placenta and I'm currently 37 weeks, it gets alot worse my skin on my belly hurts to touch cos he moves around so much my skin feels like it's bruised! Lovely feeling him move and knowing he's healthy but I totally feel your pain! Lol x

I had an anterior placenta with my first, as it was my first pregnancy I didn't notice it to be strange but now I'm pregnant with my second and I have a posterior placenta I realise how little I felt my first move. I only ever really felt kicks when I was lay on my left side with my first as the placenta was at the front of my belly it acted as a cushion. Now I feel this baby move constantly and its really big movements and strong kicks.

I ended up being induced with my first as I didn't feel her move for hours, they put me on a monitor and as I was 39 weeks they induced me.

If you're ever worried about not feeling movements try laying on your left side, drinking a cold or sugary drink or a hot drink! You can ring your midwife whenever you're worried too and they will send you in to be monitored. I've actually been once with this pregnancy despite having a posterior placenta, but baby was just asleep! Lol. Don't feel stupid for ringing if you're worried it's always better to get checked for peace of mind :). Also I didn't feel movements until around 22 weeks with my first :)

I had this with my first. Nothing to worry about. I was 21 weeks when I first felt him move.

I had one, I only ever felt her stretch or when she had hiccups. I probably felt two or three kicks my whole pregnancy, but that was also down to her position. You’ll work out what you recognise as movement when baby is big enough. It’s really common to have an AP

I had an AP and felt flutters at 17 weeks followed by kicks by 19 weeks. My placenta was very high though. I know women who had anterior placentas who barely felt kicks at all throughout their pregnancy.

I am 38 weeks now and have the same. I felt him after around 21 weeks and then more and more the stronger he got.

I don’t see feet coming out of my skin but I definitely feel kicks and movement.

Absolutely nothing to worry about. It’s my first pregnancy, so I have nothing to compare with. But I’ve heard that you feel the kicks a bit less and later.

No big deal :) xxx

Hi Melanie

As yourself I also found out I had an anterior placenta at my 20 week scan, I was also worried I wouldn't be able to feel kicks etc. At 21 weeks I felt what I can only describe as vibrations as I had flutters from week 15ish but since 25 weeks the kicks were stronger & you'll definitely be able to feel movement. I use an app called kick count which was advertised at the hospital, my midwife suggested using from week 25 as thats when we should get a regular pattern on movement & I must say its been a saviour, I rely on it so much (just incase you were interested when you get further along) x
