During 12 week scan, does a sonographer let you know the size of NT after the scan right away? Or Do i have to wait until I receive an integrated test result?

Hello,

I had a report after my scan with a measure of baby on, but the 20 week scan had far more information on its report.

I had a typed report in my booklet which mentioned the NT no. However this will be X cm and won't give you the risk. That needs to be calculated with the blood tests.

At my 12 week scan the Sonographer was amazing, explained everything in great detail. She told me the measurement was within normal limits and on its own it has about a 70% accuracy but to increase accuracy to around 85-90% they do the blood test and combine the results. Once those results are back they give you a 1 in so many chance of baby having Down’s syndrome. Anything less than 1:150 they offer further testing. Good luck with your scan.
