Hi Kay,

Your first NHS scan isn’t normal until around 12/13 weeks so those dates seem correct but it’s completely normal to worry!

There are lots of private scan places you can book and pay for an early scan for reassurance which might put your mind at ease x

Thank you xxx

If it’s before 14 weeks then it’s fine. Congrats x

Hi Kay18,

I was the same as my last pregnancy was a misscarrige. I decided to book a private early scan at 9 weeks and it really gave me that reassurance before my NHS scan. Best of luck to you x

Thank you everyone 💓

Congratulations!

I totally understand where you’re coming from, I felt very overwhelmed and impatient at points, and I had this really funny thought like “what if there isn’t even a baby in there”. There was and it was absolutely fine! If you’re worried about something in particular because of symptoms etc (if this is why you’re worried - hopefully not though!) call your midwife who will book you in if they’re concerned, or book a private scan for reassurance. Apart from that, your 12 weeks will come round quick. Best of luck! Xx

There's nothing in particular just worry I really thought I wouldn't be able to have a baby so I'm worried over anything haha thank you for taking your time to re assure me xx

I'm so glad other people have these irrational thoughts! I'm only 6 weeks and not feeling overly tired or sick yet (which I should be grateful for) but I keep thinking 'what if there isn't a baby in there!' Will try to be patient :)

Kay I’m 6 weeks and feel exactly the same. I’m 34 and conceived very quickly when coming off the pill so I feel like it’s all a bit too good to be true. I don’t want to allow myself to get excited until I know for definite that everything is fine. I even took 16 pregnancy tests just in case 🙈 I’m thinking though if I have an early scan something could still happen the week after. It’s a tough one because another 6 weeks seems so far away... I feel like I can’t enjoy being pregnant as I’m too panicky xxx

Is she in the same area as you? Each trust is doing different things and scans are booked depending on your LMP dates and can be between 8 to 14 weeks, so when you get your appointment can vary on how busy the departments are as long as you're within the 8 to 12 well window.
