My little guy is 14 weeks old on Tuesday ❤️ he is very long. We have a Snuzpod 3 that is next to me in our room. He doesn’t have much room length-wise left in his Snuz and he’s growing fast. We have a cot in his room for when he’s 6 months, it’s one that turns into a bed later so it’s pretty big.
Just looking for advice from anyone else who’s little ones got too big for their cribs before they were ready for their cot - I really want to follow the SIDS advice and wait until he’s at least 6 months before he goes in his own room. Do we try to fit his big cot into our room? It would be a tight squeeze if it’s even possible. Or are there any alternatives out there that might see him to 6 months?
Many thanks!

What about a next to me? They are a lot smaller than cots but bigger than the pods. They should last you till 6 months unless you have a very big boy X congratulations!
Thanks so much for your reply! I looked up the mattress sizes for both the Snuz and the Next 2 me (thought that would be the easiest way to figure out the length available). The Next 2 me is 3 only cm longer than my Snuz? Unless there are different sizes that I missed?
I really need to try measure him again (he’s such a wriggler it’s difficult), but I’d say he’s got about 3 inches (7cm) left in the Snuz, the length of the Snuz is 80cm. He was 98th centile for length when he was born.
Oh really? Didn't realise the difference is so small...I don't know how big your bed is but you could try sleepyheads? I have co slept with my twins in them and I found them very useful!
He’s outgrown his sleepyhead too 🤦♀️ though I do still use it for naps on the sofa with his legs hanging over the end lol. But maybe there are longer ones, definitely something to think about, thanks! Really appreciate the ideas xx
How much space have you got? We used a travel cot next to our bed then moved it to her own room when she was bigger. It's about 90x60cm. Would something like that fit? It's pretty good because we can bring it with us when we visit the in-laws, folds up pretty small
Ohh, that’s a good idea. He outgrew the travel cot we had but could find a bigger one. We don’t have a huge room but if we moved the bed over more to one side we could manage with something bigger than the Snuz for 3 months. Where did you get your travel cot? The length sounds great.
Mine's a Burigitto Camping cot. We're in Brazil, I don't know if they have that brand in the UK but I'm sure you could find something similar. It's got 2 levels so when she starts to be able to pull herself up on the sides we can put her on the lower level so we're getting loads of use out of it
My little girl is also 14 weeks, we had a Moses basket for her which was suitable for babies up to 6 months but she’s outgrown it!
We have a cot similar to what you have but we had to dismantle it and bring it in our room. We have had her in it for the last two nights. It’s massive for her, but I’m refusing to buy something inbetween just for the next couple of months as I’ve spent so much already! It’s a tight squeeze but like you we were keen to follow the guidelines.
Thanks very much, I’m torn between a mini cot and what you’ve done. Think we’ll measure this weekend and see how much room we have. You’re right that there’s so much money we’ve all spent and it is only 2 months. xx
My little boy is 6 weeks today and it was his first night in a mini-cot as he was already struggling in his carry cot which we used to start with (suitable for overnight sleep). He is very long also but the issue was more with him moving his hands a lot lately and hitting both sides of the carry cot and struggling with little space there. Same as you we have a big cot/bed ready in his room and struggle with extra space in our bedroom (hence the carrycot to start with). We decided to buy a mini cot which is 100x50cm and was only £75 on Wayfair to serve us until he’s ready to go to his room when he’s 6 months old. He is loving his new cot and slept well all night. Lots of space and hoping it will last until 6 months (as it was advertised for up to 1 year, but so was the carrycot for up to 6 months 😆)
That sounds perfect, thanks so much I’m going to check out mini cots (didn’t even know they existed). And congrats on your little guy, hope you’re getting on ok xx
