Pelvic pain in pregnancy
Hi! Pregnancy Pilates is great to help with pelvic pain. I’m doing a Facebook live free pregnancy Pilates taster session on @Babies in Cambridge check out the events -Wednesday 22nd April 10:30am. My business is called FlexiFitness St Neots, I’m qualified to teach pregnancy and postnatal Pilates and am currently running online classes.
Strengthening your glutes will help. So squats, side lying leg lifts, the clam. Make sure you stretch as well. Xx
Try do some gentle stretching every day and once lockdown is over I'd recommend going to a chiropractor and getting a couple treatments or just go whenever it gets really bad. Also what might help is arnica and biofreeze gel. Hope you get throu this xx
Hey, it sounds like it could be PGP (Pelvic Groin Pain). I started suffering from it when I was about 25 weeks. I’m 27 now. The only way to completely get rid of it is to give birth apparently so we still have quite a way to go lol. Unlucky as it usually comes later on in pregnancy.
You can look online for some exercises to do and I was told about a strap/band which could also help.
It’s best to avoid doing things which make the pain worse such as standing on one leg, carrying heavy things etc.
Of course, it might not be this you have at all but either way, good luck and hope this helps a little.
Mention it to your midwife and they should refer for pregnancy physio. I had PGP terribly; you need to strengthen stomach muscles apparently, but mine just got worse until I gave birth and then gradually went, although still a little painful after 8 weeks. My advice is to rest as much as poss, and don’t do things like hoovering thick carpets, pushing heavy trollies - that kind of thing. Paracetamols also helped me when it got really bad.
