Exercise in pregnancy and social distancing

Hi all

Does anyone have any exercise tips for pregnant ladies stuck inside due to social distancing? I went for a short walk today on my lunch break while working from home, but it didn’t feel like enough; then it was dark by the time I stopped working.

I didn’t exercise that much before I got pregnant so I wouldn’t be up for anything too intense, but any tips on how to keep moving and healthy during these odd times will be appreciated! (Especially as all classes seem to be cancelled so I won’t get to do pregnancy yoga)

Thank you

Have a look at the Sworkit app. Basic version is free and it has a few pregnancy and postnatal exercise programs you can do with no equipment xxx

I have found quite useful app called baby2body:) which offer good range of exercise suitable for your pregnancy, week by week. Only thing is you have to pay for it later around £12 per month. I still found it okay especially now when I cant go for any classes.

Then yoggy app for easy pregnancy yoga that is for free:).

I'm doing April Long's prenatal Pilates on YouTube. It's all free and short videos. I find some of it quite hard but she does easier versions of each exercise.

I have seen lots of YouTube videos for prenatal but I just started with Pilates. I also downloaded kegel app to get me actually doing my pelvic floor. It's super quick and easy. I'd love to say I've done it everyday...! It's better than nothing though.

I’ve been doing a Barre Blend online workout which is a ballet based, low impact one which is supposed to be safe throughout pregnancy. It’s through Beach Body and they have loads of other workouts online which always have someone doing a modified version. I’ve always had great results with them but you do have to pay. As long as you are doing something to keep fit that’s all you need! xx

I follow an account called Results With Bump on Instagram and they link to an app called Results Wellness Lifestyle which has a whole heap of pregnancy workouts. I’m trying to do as much as I can as I was still exercising 5 times a week, the same as pre pregnancy and was happy that I was staying super fit and healthy until this craziness hit. Good luck with it xx

Have a look for body fit by Amy on YouTube, she does a couple of different pregnancy workouts which I have found good! Xx

Pregnancy Yoga on YouTube, there are many good channels. Or LucyFlow (not for free), but I enjoyed it until the day I gave birth.
