Hi my lil girl was born early at 5lb 1oz and I've started bottle feeding as this is what I done with my previous daughter. I feel like I should be giving breast feeding a try.. can I start even tho shes been having formula and is 5 days old? Can I do both? How do I start?
Thank you

It's absolutely possible. Do lots of skin to skin with baby & offer boob before bottle. Watch YouTube videos to help with latch if you need to. Join uk breastfeeding support on Facebook, it's a fab group with lots of combi feeding mums so it's very non judgmental towards the use of formula so don't worry about that.
Absolutely, why not speak to your health visitor or maternity team and see if there's a lactation consultant at your Trust. Also look up mothers milk and la leche league who all have consultants who might be able to help you.
I'm 4 months in breast feeding my little girl. It can be a bit tricky to start with, but I'm so glad I persevered. It's good for baby and so convenient. No getting up in the night to make up bottles, no having to carry bottles about or sterlise them. Now it's definitely something I love doing for my daughter. Wishing you lots of luck with it, if you can get the help you need at the beginning, to get stats, it's an amazing experience xx
