Hi!

I have a nearly 4 week old baby, Me and my partner have been having sex again since about 2 weeks ago (I stopped bleeding two weeks after birth).

We have an appointment booked for contraception in the 31st August. I thought you can't get pregnant straight away, but me and my partner have been having sex. He hasn't been ejaculating inside of me (pull out, I know it's not 100% effective).

Over the past three days I have been having slimey clear discharge and then last night I had a clump of Jelly mucas come out (Never had this in my life)

Does anyone know what this is?

Btw I will be getting on contraception asap.

I’d do a pregnancy test, you’re most fertile straight after birth. Even if you’re breastfeeding there’s a chance you could have become pregnant again. Im honestly not judging; just you need to be aware of that.

As to the mucas no idea. I’d see your gp.

Your are deffo most fertile after having a baby. I would also suggest doing a test

It is probably lochia discharge, which can happen for about 4 to 6 weeks after birth and is totally normal, just your body putting itself back to rights after birth - but to put your mind at rest you could maybe use another method like condoms just until you have your contraception appointment?
