My baby has a rash/ red bumps on her belly, we took her too doctors and was told it’s eczema was given e45. Since then have noticed it’s spreading, LG is fine in herself, we have another appointment. Should I be worried?

I would stop using the cream - I had bad eczema as a baby and child and E45 made it much worse, it’s not the best cream for eczema. I’d go back to GP and ask for a more sensitive cream (eg Epaderm, Diprobase or Oilatum), or ask a second opinion if it is definitely eczema.

Could it be a little heat rash plus eczema? My LG had constant red bumps at the moment. As long as it disappears when a glass is rolled over it it should be fine but if your worried just speak to your GP xx

Well we was thinking that, as she likes to lay on her belly on us, gp has said looks like a viral infection continue with e45 x

I was gonna say that next. My LG suffers with viral rashes with her eczema. Hate it as it always makes me worry x

You always think of the worst, but she’s her normal self and temperature was 36.5 so around normal for her x

We use aveeno bath products and barrier cream (when needed) but we haven’t used the cream yet. Think we will use the e45 for now and see how we go, if not any better, will try the aveeno cream x

I have eczema, keep her as cool as possible as getting hot flares it up. I agree with Arya10, E45 isn't the best cream to use. I have diprobase and epiderm. You can buy it in boots but best to ask the pharmacist if it is suitable for babies, I know the Epaderm is suitable for babies. But if it gets nasty take her back to the doctors and they may give her a weak steroid cream . Nice cool baths will help and cool cotton clothes.

Go back to the GP and ask got an oil based cream. My kids are all allergic to water based eczema creams. Cetraben is the best xx

My little one also has eczema. Our GP said not to use e45 as that will make it worse. We were given hydromol bath additive which is brilliant. We also use aveeno baby and that works really well too. If it gets any any worse, ask for steroid cream. We had to use it once and it cleared the skin straight away. We then continued with aveeno every few hours for a week and never had issue again. We now see few spots once in a while, but usually cool bath with hydromol and generous portion of aveeno, clears it up. I hope you will find the right treatment for your little one soon!
