Hi all, really need some answer. I was told at 20 weeks that I am having a boy. The gynecologist told me that he was 90% sure. Is it unlikely that it may not be accurate??

Baby's Gender being wrong??
There's always a chance. But it depends how good a look they got at the ultrasound. I think it's rare they get it wrong, but I've heard of cases (like a friend of a colleague someone distant i didnt personally know).
What makes you have doubts?
Just that for some reason I was expecting for a girl due to my symptoms. My pregnancy is totally different from my previous and I heard about cases of the gynecologist to be wrong at times. Even my family thinks it's a girl. But really would like to make before getting the baby clothes.
My Dr told me it's difficult for it to be wrong when they tell you it's a boy because they've seen his bits. It's much more likely they would be wrong telling you it's a girl when in fact it's a boy but the genitals were obscured in the image. Someone I used to work with was told their second was a girl but when he came out.. surprise!!!
With both my pregnancies they said it looks like a girl, not for sure it’s a girl it always made me feel they could be wrong but they were both girls.
They were 100% on my scan it was a boy even today during scan he bared all for the sonogram he's not shy lol x
More often than not it's right, but they will never tell you it's 100% 1 or the other, mistakes can definitely be made either way. My friend was told she was having a boy & got the shock of her life when she gave birth to a girl instead- she had more than 1 scan telling her she was having a boy too!
They’ll never say for 💯 but I think most of the time they are right.
I was told I was having a boy & he’s now 20! And this pregnancy I’ve been told by 3 different sonographers that I’m expecting a girl.
I agree with kempton both of my pregnancies have been very similar; no morning sickness & anaemia with both.
If you are in any doubt ( I was worried they might have got it wrong) have a private scan to get a second opinion.
Congrats on your little boy xoxo
I agree symptoms can't determine the sex.
Both my pregnancies have been exactly the same one was a boy the next was a girl.
Just buy unisex clothes. They live in baby grows the first 3 months anyway 😁😁😁
You could go on a mini shopping trip when baby is a few weeks old.
My girl has got a load of 'boys clothes' hand me downs then 2nd hand girls stuff. They puke on everything and outgrow stuff so quickly.
My first had a load of newborn size he never wore because he was too big. He was straight into the 0-3m collection 🙈
You can only really determine the sex 100% (and that's still 99.9%) with a blood test which is done privately.
Sonographers prediction is obviously not 100% as it's the human eye looking at a black and white Ultrasound scan.
Usually they say that if they think it's a boy it's most likely to be as they will have had to notice their genitalia which is obviously not something you can see with girls.
You can’t tell the sex from symptoms. If the scan was showing it’s likely a boy it probably is.
