Hi guys.

So I’m now 13+5, still suffering with sickness. But it’s gone down to 2-3 times a day thankfully. The doctor says it probably won’t decrease any more than that, until it stops, if it does. But also, I still have no energy whatsoever and I’m still so tired all the time.

I’m just wondering when everyone got their energy back and if you’ve got any advice to make it happen quicker, that would be great.

My sickness didn't stop until around week 18/19, but I did start to get more energy around 15 weeks. Not really got any tips of improving the sickness. I just had to only eat cold foods, drink plenty of water and get most of my calories through drinks (i.e. fortified soy milk, fruit juices and vegetable smoothies).

Reflexology helped me x

It may well decrease. I was being sick once every other day when mine stopped at 24 weeks. Unfortunately I was nauseous til I gave birth and never got any energy back.

Have you got any anti sickness tablets from the dr? Although the first line ones make you sleepy!

I was also about 16/18 weeks before I started to feel better and have any energy back. It sounds like this is more normal if you’re someone who has the sickness/tiredness symptoms. I remember my midwife saying at my 8week appointment that it would be over soon. How wrong was she after rounds of acupuncture and two types of meds!

Just keep rested when you can and just eat what you like, when you feel like it. It will pass at some point.

I should say I’m now 25 weeks and feel really good. Those first few weeks were really tough and I never thought would end, but there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Perhaps think of it as working with the seasons. Your body is just starting to open up, ready for spring and by summer you’ll be feeling 👌

Thank you all so much! Have taken what you’ve said on board. 14+3 now and still sick but I’m hoping (fingers crossed) it’ll decrease very soon!!

Not what you're looking for?
