Pain during pregnancy

I was in hospital yesterday getting checked out as I started having an achy stomach that quickly turned into a very painful cramping that was constant all day yesterday and has now become an on and off sort of pain, that has moved to the one side and is excruciating. Has anyone else had this? The hospital said the baby was fine, no signs of cervix opening. So I’m not too worried now. But I am struggling. Has anyone else experienced this? What was it from?

I’m currently 23 weeks, 3rd pregnancy, never suffered with this sort of pain before.
