Silent Dilation
I have never heard of needing to check this and don't know what benefit knowing you have dilated slightly has. I know some people do dilate slightly before but it means nothing for the Labour. All internal checks can be refused so it's up to you if you have these. I only had two checks to see how dilated I was and this was during labour. Don't do anything you aren't comfortable with.
Have you had any cervical procedures that could account for this? It's not standard procedure but there might be a reason for it.
Never only think it's due to me having my 5th baby and that I have very quick labour/births my last being born within 30 mins from start of labour c
That could well be it!
It's abit scary as iv only just made it into hospital to have my babies my third I didn't even get chance he was born at home witch I found so relaxing and I wasn't in a panic but this time they want to check as if they see that I have dilated they would rather speed up the labour so I give birth then rather than risk things
