Hi all. I'm 7 weeks pregnant and last night was the worst night possible wanted to rip my face off. Excruciating tooth ache. Took two paracetamol and a glass of milk and it eased it. Anyone else have toothache due to pregnancy x

Early trimester and horrendous toothache
How about seeing your dentist? You can still get the same tooth problems during pregnancy. Only bonus is if you're pregnant with an NHS practice you get exemption of fees
Thank you. I read somewhere where toothache is the baby taking my calcium so had lots of milk and it subsided. I'm going to book with dentist when I'm in my 2nd trimester unless it doesn't get any better x
Baby can take calcium off you. Hence why you should try up your calcium (dairy products), but I wouldn't just out it down to that.
Once the calcium is formed in teeth it willl stay there. The baby can only take it from your bone- go and see a dentist. As low grade tooth infection can be dangerous.
Gum problems are more common in pregnancy due to the hormones causing an exaggerated response to the plaque in your mouth.
Another vote here for going to see your dentist sooner rather than later. You are more prone to getting tooth and gum issues when pregnant and leaving it could just make things worse.
I had a similar episode when pregnant last year which was horrendous pain. Turned out I needed a root canal treatment and now I’ve got another one on the other side that needs doing. It’s costing me £1000s as I didn’t have a NHS dentist (I signed up for one when I was 14 weeks pregnant and am still waiting to get a place and my baby is 5 months old!)
Even if you choose not to have much work done whilst pregnant, if there are any cavities they could treat them temporarily to avoid things getting worse.
